The ART(ist) series aims to capture the profiles of Rubis Mécénat affiliated artists with different cultural backgrounds and artistic universes.
In 2018, at Rubis Mécénat’s request, French artist Fanny Allié created Kalos-Sthénos, a park bench in the Parc des Sens in Saint-Priest, France, representing a young man doing street workout.
Rubis Mécénat and Fanny Allié have worked together numerous times. In 2015, for the Société du Dépôt de Saint-Priest (a Rubis group subsidiary), the artist created Les Voyageurs, a serie of human figures made out of nylon string on a 70 meters long wall.
In 2012, Rubis Mécénat exhibited Silhouettes, an installation mixing neon and terracotta sculptures, video and performance, at St. Eustache Church, Paris.
Fanny Allié was born in 1981 in Montpellier, France. She graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (National School of Photography) in Arles, France in 2005. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, USA. She is a multidisciplinary artist exploring mostly sculpture, installation, collage and drawing. Her public artworks are created in situ and take into account the social and geographic context in which they are rooted.
Princeton University, DOT Art, A.I.R Gallery, New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, Fresh Window gallery, Chashama and St Eustache Church in Paris, France have organized solo exhibitions of her work.
In April 2017, Fanny installed her interactive, community-based and participatory public art sculpture Exquisite Corpse in collaboration with DOT Art and A.I.R Gallery in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
From February to April 2018, Princeton University (Woodrow Wilson School) organized a solo show of her work.
