A Crib

Max Coulon & Anouk Rabot

Saint-Eustache church, Paris

2017

Between 2016 and 2020 , Rubis Mécénat collaborated with the Beaux-Arts de Paris on a call for projects aimed at the school’s students, to create a contemporary crib for the Saint-Eustache church.

The 2017 winners, Max Coulon and Anouk Rabot, conceived the installation ‘A Crib’, exhibited at the church from December 2017 to January 2018.

Anouk Rabot focused on drawing and Max Coulon on wood. Both wanted to extend this opening onto the space that the cot was the subject of, and to work with light. A series of drawings, presented in small boxes, will unfold around one of the pillars of the church, marking the path that leads us to the Nativity. A box was lit every day until Christmas Eve.
